BRIAN LEAHY is the founder of Paper Cut Productions and an award-winning writer, director and editor whose work resounds with acerbic dialogue and relishes in our most uncomfortable moments. In addition to his narrative work, he has also scripted two educational series for those suffering with mental health disorders.

BRIAN LEAHY is a Los Angeles-based writer and filmmaker. His most recent short film, Glitterbomb, was completed in January 2026 and will soon be on the festival circuit.

Additional credits include: Made Public (writer/editor), starring Jeanine Mason (Roswell, New Mexico) and Josh Zuckerman (Oppenheimer), which screened at more than 40 festivals and garnered more than a dozen awards; the award-winning short film Waffles (writer/editor), which screened at more than 30 festivals around the world; the short film 5 Stages of Grief (writer/editor), a SHIFT Creative Fund recipient; the short film Proxy (writer), which secured distribution with HBO; the web series The Junior League of Superheroes (writer), which premiered at San Diego Comic-Con; and the short film Mia (writer/editor), which premiered at Disney Studios.

Brian has also scripted two educational series for those suffering with OCD and anxiety: The Noise in Your Head and OCD & The 6-Moment Game.

Brian is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School. He is the author of the now-retired The Groom Says blog, a guide for men in the wedding process. Brian lives in Los Angeles with his partner, filmmaker Deborah Lee Smith, and his three children.
